Cuba's Ambassador Honored with Cambodia's Prestigious Royal Order of Sahametrei

Phnom Penh: Cambodia - In a ceremonious event, Liurka Rodríguez Barrios, the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Cambodia, was honored with the Royal Order of Sahametrei, Grand Officer. This esteemed recognition was presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, SOK Chenda Sophea, as a gesture of gratitude for the ambassador's significant contributions to the enhancement of relations between Cambodia and Cuba.

During her tenure, Ambassador Rodríguez Barrios played a pivotal role in bolstering the bilateral ties between the two nations, earning her the prestigious award as a symbol of appreciation from the Kingdom of Cambodia. The Deputy Prime Minister, SOK Chenda Sophea, expressed profound appreciation for her efforts and highlighted the dynamic progress in relations between Cambodia and Cuba, referencing the historic exchanges of visits by leaders of both countries in recent years.

The commendation ceremony also served as an opportunity to acknowledge the growing cooperation across various sectors, including agriculture, healthcare, trade, investment, and sports, further cementing the strong ties between the two nations.
