Cambodia-Japan Ties Reach Historic Heights

Phnom Penh: At a recent event commemorating Japan's National Day, leaders from Cambodia and Japan celebrated the peak of their countries' relations, marking it as the highest point in their long-standing partnership.

The celebration, held on February 14, saw Mr. Sok Chenda Sophea Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation express his heartfelt congratulations to both the government and the people of Japan.

During his speech, the Minister highlighted the deep-rooted friendship, strong connections, and ongoing cooperation that have flourished between Cambodia and Japan across various domains, both bilaterally and on international platforms. He expressed profound gratitude for Japan's pivotal contribution to Cambodia's journey towards peace and rebuilding efforts starting in the early 1990s, acknowledging Japan's consistent support in fostering Cambodia's socio-economic growth.

2023 marks a milestone year as Cambodia and Japan commemorate the 70th Anniversary of their Diplomatic Relations. The celebration this year is particularly significant as it heralds the elevation of their ties to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership," reflecting the depth and maturity of the relationship between the two nations.
