Cambodian National Assembly President Urges Metfone to Enhance Services in Growing Telecom Market

Phnom Penh: Khuon Sodary, the President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, has urged Metfone to bolster its service quality and competitiveness in Cambodia's open market. This encouragement came during a meeting with a Metfone delegation on February 8, 2024, at the National Assembly, where the telecom giant received advice on enhancing telecommunication technology services for Cambodian citizens.

The National Assembly lauds Metfone's investment in Cambodia, viewing it as a testament to the enduring friendship and solidarity between Cambodia and Vietnam, further strengthening the bonds between their peoples.

Sodary highlighted the significant investment by Vietnamese companies across various sectors in Cambodia, noting the substantial number of Vietnamese tourists visiting Cambodia, a testament to the flourishing people-to-people relationships. These interactions are deemed essential for mutual prosperity, peace, social stability, and the broader regional and international development.

During the visit, Cao Manh Duc, Metfone's General Director, informed the National Assembly President of the company's 15-year investment journey in Cambodia. Duc elaborated on Metfone's achievements, including offering mobile and internet services nationwide to about 9 million customers and engaging in social, humanitarian, and sports promotion activities, particularly football. He also mentioned the company's technological partnerships with numerous Cambodian ministries and government agencies, ensuring telecommunication services reach even the most remote areas of the country.

Metfone's CEO commended Cambodia's rapid progress and expressed pride in the company's role in employing thousands of Cambodians, contributing to the country's development.
