Cambodian Children’s Fund and AIA Cambodia Partner to Support Education and Development Opportunities for Cambodian Youth

Phnom Penh: January 30th, 2024 - Cambodian Children’s Fund (CCF) and AIA Cambodia have joined forces to create new opportunities for Cambodian youth through a strategic partnership providing scholarships, sports training, and career development programs.

The partnership, announced at a MOU signing ceremony held on January 30th at CCF’s high school the Neeson Cripps Academy, will be effective from January 1st.

AIA Cambodia, part of the largest life insurer group in Asia, will offer a range of initiatives to support CCF’s mission of providing education and development opportunities to underprivileged children living in Steung Meanchey, Phnom Penh.

As part of this partnership, AIA Cambodia will offer university scholarships. They will sponsor four university students with fees and other expenses, including a stipend for living costs. Two students will be selected in 2024 and two more in 2025. CCF will select the students.

The total cost of the scholarships will be $41,200. The scholarships will have a hugely impactful effect on Cambodian Children’s Fund students and be beneficial for their long-term prospects and brighter future.

In addition to the scholarships, AIA Cambodia will also host a fundraising month for CCF as part of its CSR initiatives. This will involve AIA business partners and associates.

AIA Cambodia will also host CCF students once per year of a Healthy Development program that includes sports training, and Career Development with talks and advice on how to access pathways to different careers.

“We’re thrilled to enter this partnership with AIA (Cambodia). They have a similar culture and values to CCF, and their commitment to Cambodian youth aligns strongly with our mission, said Scott Neeson, Founder and Executive Director of CCF.

“Every child, regardless of their background, deserves access to quality education and opportunities for growth. With the right education and support, their potential knows no bounds.

AIA is honoured to have this opportunity to collaborate with such a respected and acknowledged NGO that shares our vision of enabling children from all backgrounds to reach their full potential.

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I stand before you today to announce a truly remarkable momentous occasion - the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the CCF. The MOU will provide sponsorship to underprivileged children with opportunities to live HEALTHIER, LONGER, BETTER LIVES through sports and education. Said Mrs. Jane Tay, Chief Executive Offer of AIA (Cambodia)

It is hoped the partnership will mark the beginning of a long and fruitful collaboration between AIA Cambodia and Cambodian Children’s Fund, with the goal of creating new opportunities for young people in Cambodia to achieve their dreams.
