France to Launch Cambodia’s First 3D Museum

PARIS: Prime Minister Hun Manet is following through on his promise to meet with a variety of investors during his official visit to France this week. According to his social media, the PM met with Puy Du Fou Asia CEO Geoffrey Ladet, who discussed plans to launch Cambodia’s first ever 3D museum project.

On January 15, the two men discussed the “Immersive Angkor” project, which will use 3D scans to replicate Angkor Wat in a digital space and provide context to educate virtual tourists. The project aims to complement Cambodia’s tourism sector rather than detract from it and the Put Du Fou CEO said the project will begin soon.

Prime Minister Hun Manet said the Immersive Angkor project will be an excellent opportunity to educate younger generations on Khmer culture and civilization. He said it will provide a quick and easy tool to spread knowledge to the general public about Khmer history.
