PARIS: Prime Minister Hun Manet confirmed that Cambodia will host the Francophone Summit (CMF) in 2026, with the support of French President Emmanuel Macron.

Speaking at a meeting with Cambodians in France on the night of January 14, he said, "In 2026, we will be the host. We put in our candidature to host the Francophone Summit and French President Macron gave his initial support,” he said. “We are proud to be a Francophone country in Southeast Asia. There are not many Francophone countries. We have only Laos and Vietnam."

He said that Cambodia will continue to expand cooperation with France in security, diplomacy, culture and other fields to enhance relations between the two countries.
