Government Spokesperson: CPP Government Support Increasing both Domestically and Internationally

PHNOM PENH: Government spokesperson Pen Bona said that the support of people both inside and outside the country continues to increase steadily, proving the fervent superiority of the Royal Government under the Cambodian People’s Party leadership. He said that promoting the pride of the Khmer nation as well as the prestige of Cambodia has increased trade both domestically and internationally.

In a social media post on January 12, 2024 the spokesperson wrote: "From the time of former PM Hun Sen to the Royal Government, led by PM Hun Manet, every time we hear about the visit of its leader abroad, students and people overseas people always send messages of support with great joy and pride. When the Prime Minister invites thousands of students and people, they always stop to greet and meet with the country's leaders.”

He said that upon hearing that PM Hun Manet had received an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron to pay an official visit, many students and Cambodians living in Europe released congratulatory videos with great excitement.

He said this proves that the government not only has the strong support of the people in the country, that they also receive strong support of Cambodians overseas.

He pointed out that the number of votes for the Cambodian People’s Party increases every year, both inside and outside the country. In the last national election, the CPP received more than 82% of the votes out of more than 83% of registered voters who went to the polls. Meanwhile, he said, the number of Cambodians abroad supporting the CPP has increased significantly.

He said that peace, social and political stability, rapid development and reduced poverty are indisputable testimonies of the wise leadership of former Prime Minister Hun Sen and of his son, Prime Minister Hun Manet.
