Government Set to Launch Program to Reinvigorate Sihanoukville Businesses

KOH KONG: Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasized that the Royal Government of Cambodia will launch a new policy program on January 25 to promote the development of Sihanoukville and resolve the stagnation of growth in the city.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the new Hun Sen Bridge in Koh Kong on January 8, he said “2024 is the year to encourage investment in Sihanoukville, to solve problems, construction issues and encourage people.”

The PM emphasized the priorities of his administration’s Pentagon Strategy, with the Royal Government focusing on accelerating the development of Sihanoukville into a multi-purpose Special Economic Zone. He says he will define clear and comprehensive implementation mechanisms to make the area an important economic pole for tourism, financial services centers, industrial zones and more.
