Cambodian PM Supports Mekong-Lanchang Economic Development Project

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasized the importance of building a community with a common destiny of peace and prosperity among the Mekong-Lancang countries in support of the Economic Development Belt.

During a teleconference at the 4th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Summit on December 25, the PM stressed the priorities needed to advance the MLC agenda including people-centered development, strengthening the regional supply chain and promoting the digital economy in international economic cooperation. He said that long-term regional competitiveness will help build a community of common destiny for peace and prosperity among the Mekong-Lancang countries.

The meeting concluded that day with the adoption of three key documents: the Nay Pyi Taw Declaration, the Five-Year Action Plan on Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (2023-2027) and the Joint Initiative for Port Development along corridors of the MLC, all three of which will contribute to further development in the region.
