Cambodia to Experience Continued Cooling with Minimum Temperatures at 16 Degrees for Two More Days
Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology has issued an announcement indicating that Cambodia will continue to experience cool weather with minimum temperatures dropping to 16 degrees for an additional two days.
On December 25, 2023, the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology reported that a high-pressure system originating from China is still influencing Cambodia, bringing about moderate to strong northeast monsoon winds.
From December 25 to 26, 2023, regions bordering the Dangrek Mountains and the northeastern plateau will maintain chilly morning temperatures.
In the lowland areas, minimum temperatures will range from 17 to 22 degrees Celsius, including Pailin, Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, and Siem Reap, with temperatures falling to 17 to 19 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, in Oddar Meanchey, Mondulkiri, Preah Vihear, and Ratanakkiri provinces, the minimum temperature will range from 16 to 18 degrees Celsius. Coastal areas will experience a minimum temperature of 21-23 degrees Celsius.
Starting from December 27, the influence of the high-pressure system from China and the northeast monsoon will gradually weaken, leading to warmer temperatures as the cold weather recedes, according to the ministry.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology has advised the public to take precautions for their health and wear appropriate clothing to prevent potential weather-related health issues in the future.
