Sihanoukville: Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed admiration for the impressive capacity of the Sihanoukville Port while reviewing the annual container loading statistics.

The Prime Minister noted that the port's original capacity was designed to handle 550,000 containers annually. However, the actual data revealed that it had successfully managed 880,000 containers. This substantial overachievement underscores Cambodia's growth and evolving requirements, prompting the decision to expand the port.

He further elaborated that the upcoming expansion project will significantly enhance the port's capacity, allowing it to accommodate nearly all types of vessels, facilitating docking for approximately 93% of ships in transit.
