PM Halts Mining Operations in Prey Lang, Emphasizing Environmental Protection

Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun Manet of Cambodia has issued an order to cease mining activities in Prey Lang, the largest forest in Cambodia. Furthermore, he has mandated a reduction in the scale of mining exploration by companies that hold licenses, ensuring it aligns with environmental protection efforts.

This directive was delivered during the conclusion of the Annual Meeting of the Ministry of Environment on Thursday evening, December 21, 2023.

"Expanding mining operations in existing areas must be avoided, and protected regions should be left undisturbed," he emphasized.
