Hit-and-Run Driver of Luxury Car in Tuol Kork District Ordered to Court

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Justice's spokesperson, Mr. Chin Malin, has announced that a court order has been issued for the suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident in Tuol Kork district on the night of December 14, 2023. The order mandates the suspect's appearance in court by January 9, 2024.

In a social media message posted by Mr. CHIN Malin on December 19, 2023, it was stated that the arrest warrant also empowers the police to locate and apprehend the suspect should they refuse to voluntarily appear in court.

Furthermore, Mr. Chin Malin noted that in response to this traffic accident case, Minister of Justice Koeut Rith has directed the Phnom Penh Municipal Prosecutor to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that it is handled in strict accordance with the law.

The incident in question involved a black Jeep Overland car with license plate number 2CB-9963 Phnom Penh colliding with a motorcycle, resulting in the rider's tragic death at 10:30 PM on December 14, 2023. Following the accident, the driver of the car abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene.
