PM: Government of the 7th Legislature Commits to Strengthening Investment in Cambodia

TOKYO: The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, His Excellency Hun Manet, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Royal Government of the 7th legislature of the National Assembly to further enhance investment opportunities in Cambodia, making them more flexible and favorable.

The Prime Minister made this declaration during a courtesy meeting with Mr. KAINUMA Yoshihisa, CEO of Minebea, on December 18, 2023, on the sidelines of his participation in the 50th ASEAN-Japan Anniversary Summit, which is being held in Tokyo, Japan, from December 15-19, 2023.

During the meeting, Mr. KAINUMA Yoshihisa and the leadership of Minebea expressed their appreciation to the Royal Government of Cambodia for facilitating various aspects of the company's operations and for instilling confidence in investors, encouraging them to further expand their investments in Cambodia.

The Prime Minister extended his gratitude to the company for its existing and planned investments in Cambodia. He underscored the Cambodian government's dedication to ensuring a sustainable and favorable business environment through the introduction of new policies, implementation mechanisms, and legal frameworks. Additionally, Cambodia is actively developing key infrastructure such as expressways, railways, and ports to enhance connectivity and logistics, offering attractive incentives to both local and foreign investors.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister mentioned that the government is exploring the possibility of establishing a Cambodia-Japan industrial park and crafting a logistics master plan with the aim of transforming the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port into a major regional port.
