Cambodian Government Committed to Working with Russia for Mutual Benefit

PHNOM PENH: Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sok Chenda Sophea, thanked Russia for its continued support and assistance to Cambodia, especially in the field of human resource development.

On October 10, Russian Ambassador Anatoly Borovik paid a courtesy call to the Foreign Affairs Minister to discuss Russia-Cambodia relations at the Ministry. The ambassador reaffirmed Russia's commitment to further improving the education sector in Cambodia and took the opportunity to offer condolences to the family of the Cambodian veterinary student killed in Israel last week.

Sok Chenda thanked Russia for its continued support and assistance to Cambodia and thanked the Russian Ambassador for his condolences. Both sides noted with deep satisfaction the traditional friendship between Cambodia and Russia, based on the principles of mutual respect and common interests.

Meanwhile, Cambodia and Russia stressed the importance of continuing cooperation in areas of mutual benefit, including trade, investment and cultural exchange. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern.

In this spirit, the two sides agreed to hold the 11th meeting of the Cambodia-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation in early 2024.
