Biden to Congress: More Funds Needed to Support Israel, Ukraine

INTERNATIONAL: The Biden administration is considering approaching Congress for additional funding to enhance its support for both Israel and Ukraine simultaneously. This announcement was made by White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby, who emphasized the importance of maintaining support for Ukraine and ensuring the security of Israel.

During a conference call on Monday, Kirby stated, "We believe both are important; support to Ukraine needs to continue... it's a critical need, and we're going to continue to make that case on Capitol Hill." He further added, "If we need to go back to Capitol Hill for additional funding support for Israel, we will absolutely do that."

This move comes in the wake of growing concerns about the security and stability of both nations. Earlier on the same day, US Army Secretary Christine Wormuth echoed Kirby's sentiments, highlighting the necessity for additional support from Congress to enable the US military to provide security assistance to Ukraine and Israel concurrently.

The Biden administration's proactive stance on this matter underscores its commitment to maintaining strong international relationships and ensuring the safety and stability of key allies. As discussions unfold on Capitol Hill, the world watches closely to see how this diplomatic and financial support will evolve, particularly in the context of the ongoing global geopolitical landscape.
