Congresswoman Calls for Investigation into Origin of US Weaponry Used by Hamas

Washington, D.C. – Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has called for a joint investigation between the United States and Israel to determine the source of US-made weaponry used by the Palestinian militant group Hamas in its ongoing attacks against Israel.

Congresswoman Greene asserted that it is imperative to trace the serial numbers on US weapons utilized by Hamas to discern their origin, raising the possibility that some of these arms may have come from Ukraine or Afghanistan. She stated, "We need to work with Israel to track serial numbers on any US weapons used by Hamas against Israel. Did they come from Afghanistan? Did they come from Ukraine? Highly likely the answer is both," in a message posted on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

As of now, no concrete evidence has emerged to substantiate these claims. However, an unverified video circulating online appears to show a Hamas militant acknowledging Ukrainians for the weaponry while displaying various US-made items, including a standard-issue M136 anti-tank grenade launcher.

The United States has been providing military assistance to Ukraine for over a year and a half to support Kiev in its struggle against Moscow. Ukraine has faced allegations of misusing and selling military equipment, with items ranging from firearms to mines and guided anti-tank missiles frequently appearing on the dark web.

In Afghanistan, the entire arsenal of the country's now-defunct army, which was established with direct and extended involvement from the Pentagon, fell into the hands of the Taliban after the Islamist group seized control of the nation in August 2021.

A senior commander in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that US weapons left in Afghanistan by the Biden administration have been discovered in the possession of Palestinian groups active in the Gaza Strip. This development follows the tumultuous events surrounding the US evacuation from Afghanistan, ordered by President Biden, which resulted in a significant amount of weaponry and equipment being left behind and subsequently used against Israel, a close ally of the United States.

The situation has raised questions about the effectiveness of President Biden's leadership on the international stage, with some critics characterizing it as a source of embarrassment.
