Em Chan Makara Prepares for ASEAN Forum and Dialogue with US

PHNOM PENH: Secretary of State of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Secretary-General of the Disability Action Council, Em Chan Makara, chaired a meeting to review documents in preparation for participating in the Senior ASEAN Forum on “Developing a Disability Environment and Partnership Beyond 2025" along with the ASEAN-US Dialogue.

He held the meeting on October 4 with the Senior Minister for Disability and ASEAN in charge of Social Welfare and Development of Cambodia to review the contents of documents to prepare for participation in the ASEAN Senior Forum. The meeting coincided with the ASEAN-US Dialogue in Makassar, Indonesia.

He said that as planned, the Cambodian delegation will attend the meeting and will deliver a keynote address at the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Social Affairs.

According to the Provisional Agenda of the ASEAN High-Level Forum on Environmental Development and Partnership beyond 2025, there will be a high-level ASEAN-US Dialogue on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which will discuss the mainstreaming of disability perspectives and a comprehensive global agenda in the three ASEAN pillars, including challenges, opportunities and excellence.
