Cambodia’s Agricultural Minister Attends ASEAN Meeting

PHNOM PENH: On the morning of October 4, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Dith Tina, led a delegation to attend the 45th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture and Forestry in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The meeting reviewed the progress report on the implementation of the ASEAN Food, Agriculture and Forestry Cooperation Policy Framework, including multi-sectoral, sub-sectoral and technical working groups.

The meeting also examined cooperation in relevant fields with dialogue partners, international organizations and relevant institutions.

The delegates approved a number of strategic documents, guidelines and technical documents and issued a Joint Statement committed to promoting cooperation in the fields of food, agriculture and forestry while recognizing the importance of sustainable agriculture, food security and sustainable forest management. The meeting emphasized the need for close cooperation between dialogue partners and international organizations to address regional challenges and opportunities.
