Mother and Child Lost at Sea

PREAH SIHANOUK: Authorities have reported two victims, a mother and child, fell from a fishing boat and disappeared into the ocean at around 7pm on October 1 while fishing between Tang Island and Pi Islands near Koh Rong Samloem.

According to the relatives of the boat owner called the police to report the incident, there were initially six people on the boat. However a 24-year-old woman and her child, Sihanoukville residents, disappeared.

Local authorities, along with fishermen, the National Committee for Maritime Security and the Marine Border Police went searching for the victims on the morning of October 2, but have not managed to find the victims.
