Cambodia’s Delta Cases Surpass 500

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Health has announced the discovery of 44 additional Covid-19 Delta variant across the country. The additional cases were discovered on Tuesday, most of them are from Oddar Meanchey province. Three cases were reported in Phnom Penh, four in Kampong Speu, four in Siem Reap, another four in Preah Vihear, one in Koh Kong, 12 in Svay Rieng and 14 in Oddar Meanchey.

The Ministry of Health earlier reported that 97 cases of Delta variant were discovered in the border province of Oddar Meanchey. It is bordering Thailand where an outbreak of Covid-19 Delta variant is being experienced. As the border closure will end on Thursday midnight, the border provinces are preparing for the influx of workers returning to Cambodia. The Royal Government of Cambodia has now recorded 526 Covid-19 Delta variant.
