NSSF Makes First Pension Payments to Veterans and Civil Servants

PHNOM PENH: The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) issued its first social security pension payments for veterans, retired civil servants and their dependents on September 13, 2023.

The NSSF made an announcement that pension payments would be available starting at 2pm on Wednesday. According to the announcement, qualified retirees who have a Phnom Penh address can apply for a pension through any Canadia Bank branch. Those wishing to apply outside the capital city can apply at ACLEDA Banks. Applicants must bring their bank details and a Khmer Identity Card or a current ATM card.

The NSSF says that in the event a qualified pensioner is ill or deceased, their dependents may contact the NSSF by phone or Facebook in order to receive their monthly pension. Social security payments for the dependents of deceased veterans and civil servants will be delivered to the homes of recipients or to their local Department of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation.
