South Korea Considers Increasing Quota for Cambodian Workers

Jakarta: Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and President of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Sok Yeol, met on September 7, 2023, in Jakarta, Indonesia. During the meeting, the two leaders agreed to strengthen and expand cooperation in various potential areas, including investment, trade, agriculture, public health, defense, and people-to-people contacts.

The President of the Republic of Korea expressed his strong belief that, under Prime Minister Hun Manet's leadership, Cambodia will achieve greater progress and prosperity in the future.

Prime Minister Hun Manet, in turn, extended his gratitude to the Korean Government for its attention to Cambodian workers in Korea. President Yoon Sok Yeol pledged to consider increasing the quota for Cambodian workers and continued to encourage Korean companies to invest in Cambodia, especially in the field of digital technology.

Additionally, President Yoon Sok Yeol thanked Prime Minister Hun Manet for his warm welcome during the 41st ASEAN Summit in Phnom Penh. The Korean Government also expressed gratitude to Cambodia for supporting Korea's bid to host the World 2030 exhibition in Busan.

The meeting concluded in a friendly and cordial atmosphere, with Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirming Cambodia's commitment to enhancing cooperation with Korea and aiming to become a comprehensive strategic partner in the near future.
