Cambodia, Brunei to Increase Cooperation on Transnational Crime Prevention

JAKARTA: Prime Minister Hun Manet met with the king of Brunei, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muisazid Wadullah on September 6.

The prime minister and sultan discussed the future direction of cooperation between Cambodia and Brunei by focusing on defense, security, education and training of human resources, agriculture, and cultural exchange.

The two sides agreed to increase cooperation on transnational crime prevention, private sector integration through the Chamber of Commerce and support for bilateral dialogue mechanisms between the two countries' foreign ministers.

PM Hun Manet recalled the good relations between Cambodia and Brunei, especially in terms of the defense sector, saying he visited Brunei when he was Commander-in-Chief of the Army.

The sultan invited the PM to pay an official visit to Brunei in the near future. The PM responded positively to the invitation and extended the same invitation to the king of Brunei.
