PM Touts Readiness of CPP Policies for Immediate Rollout

KANDAL: When the new administration was officiated on August 22, the Cambodian People’s Party had already prepared its policies for Prime Minister Hun Manet to lead. Things like the economic Pentagon Strategy had already been devised and approved by the Ministry of Economy and the Asian Development Bank under his father’s administration and were simply waiting for the next government mandate to be implemented.

Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted this as a benefit for Cambodia, saying that other countries often took months agreeing upon priorities for the incoming administration. He noted that immediately after the formation of the new government, he had the opportunity to disseminate policies to the people immediately. The Pentagon Strategy has been a main talking point of the government over the last two weeks and intends to improve access to water and electricity, infrastructure, human resources and technology.
