Embassy of Malaysia Addresses Offensive Comments by Malaysian YouTuber in Cambodia Uncle Rodger

The Embassy of Malaysia in Cambodia has condemned the offensive comments made by Malaysian national Nigel Ng on his YouTube channel on July 30, 2023.

The Embassy said that the comments were not in line with the Malaysian government's views and that it does not condone any words or actions that are harmful or hurtful to others.

The Embassy said that Malaysia and Cambodia enjoy a strong and multi-faceted relationship and that such comments are obstructive and undermines the trust and friendship between the two countries.

The Embassy reiterated that Malaysia attaches great importance to upholding the principles of ASEAN, and that it is committed to preserving a harmonious environment with its foreign counterparts.

The recent official visit by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, the Honorable Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, to Cambodia has further solidified the long-standing relationship between the two countries.

The Embassy called on Malaysians to be mindful of their words and actions when traveling abroad, and to avoid making any comments that could be offensive or hurtful to the people of the host country.
