Kampot: Kampot Governor Chiao Tay has announced that Kampot Provincial Administration will officially launch the Bokor Municipality on Thursday, 12 August. He says that the newly constructed Bokor Municipal Building still has some areas that needs finishing. However, the relevant administrative infrastructure has been prepared to meet the needs of administrative services and other public services to the people, especially the organization of the municipal administration based on the guidelines of the Royal Government as well as the Ministry of Interior.

The new building of Bokor Municipality is located at Raksmey Bokor Guesthouse next to National Road 3, in front of the road to Monivong Bokor Park in Kep Thmey Village, Boeung Touk Commune, Teuk Chhou District. The governor says that the Bokor Municipality is a new municipal administration that the Royal Government has decided to create.  He has added that based on the reality that the Bokor Municipality is a newly established city under the long-term vision of Prime Minister Hun Sen, it is aimed to improve the efficiency of good governance and the speed of socio-economic development.  

The new Bokor Municipality is expected to improve the livelihood of the people. The provincial governor also instructed Bokor city administration officials to pay attention to cooperation and use all available resources, total strength, total mechanism to solve the shortcomings in the starting point of the first Bokor city administration such as maintaining good governance, good services, safety, good social order and development in all areas.
