Landslide Closes National Road 76A in Mondulkiri

MONDULKIRI: Mondulkiri Provincial Police informed residents and tourists to avoid National Road 76A near Mondulkiri’s Andong Kraloeng village after a landslide completely wiped out a stretch of the road following heavy rain.

On the night of August 1, the Mondulkiri Police informed all planning to travel on National Road 76A between Mondulkiri and Phnom Penh to take a detour via Kratie and Ratanakiri provinces. They said that between the 91 to 99 km stretch, over ten meters of road had completely collapsed down the side of the hill, leaving a massive crater in its stead.

In a video, the Mondulkiri Police said, "National Road 76 is completely cut off to both small and large vehicles. Do not head down this road from now on.” Traffic is to be completely blocked to all vehicles from the road until further notice.
