Woman Arrested after Insulting Future PM Hun Manet

PHNOM PENH: A woman was arrested after insulting future Prime Minister Hun Manet on Tiktok. In a Tiktok video posted on Saturday, the woman claimed to be speaking as the goddess Ganga, who is worshipped by Hindus as the goddess of purification and forgiveness. She instructed future Prime Minister Hun Manet to do better or else the goddess would not allow him to occupy the middle world (Earth) or to enter heaven.

"I warn you for the first time and for the last time. [You have] done a lot of bad things, so now is the time for him to change. I let you live in Cambodia, so you must help Cambodia,” she said. “If you break your mother's promise and continue on a bad path, then I will take you back, and I will not let you continue to live in the middle world. I will take your life. The middle world and heaven will not continue to accept [you]."

Police photos show the woman in handcuffs, being detained for insulting Dr. Hun Manet’s honor.
