Secretary of State Em Chan Makara Takes Family to Vote

PHNOM PENH: On the morning of Sunday, July 23, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation and Secretary General of the Disability Action Council, Em Chan Makara went with his wife and family went to participate in the 7th National Assembly Election at Boeung Chhouk Brochum Vong Primary School in Phnom Penh.

Sec. Em Chan Makara called on all registered voters to go to the polls to fulfill their obligations as good citizens.

He told EAC News that many people in his precinct went to vote and that the situation ran smoothly, without coercion or intimidation.

Sec. Em Chan Makara expressed hope and confidence that on this Election Day, nothing bad will happen and this election result will be in line with the principles of multi-party liberal democracy.

According to NEC Information Team Leader Dim Sovannarom, as of 11:46 am, 6,226,555 Cambodians, or 64.12% of registered voters, had cast their ballots at 23,789 polling stations across the country. The polls opened at 7am.
