More Road Blocks in Phnom Penh Due to Delta Variant

Phnom Penh: Phnom Penh Capital Administration has decided to block a part of Street 113 in Boeung Prolit Commune or Sangkat, District 7 Makara, due to the discovery of Covid-19 Delta variant. The part that was blocked is located in between Street 232 and Street 242. The capital’s administration says that the area will be closed for 14 days effective on Thursday until 18 August.

Apart from Street 113, Phnom Penh’s administration has also sealed off Toul Sangke Market in Chong Khsach Village, Toul Sangke I Commune or Sangkat, in Russey Keo District after another Delta variant case of Covid-19 discovery. On Tuesday, health authorities in the capital shortly closed the market while taking test samples from the people in the area. And just this Thursday, it was announced that there were Covid-19 cases with Delta variant discovered from the market.

Street 93 in Phsar Touch Village in Russey Keo’s Sangkat or Commune Toul Sangke I was the first are that was blocked on Monday following five Delta variant of Covid-19 cases were discovered.
