PM Goes After Alleged CPP Imposters Showing People How to Submit Invalid Ballots

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen ordered the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications to find people who pretend to be members of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) that are campaigning and teaching others to mark invalid ballots.

The PM issued an order after some people pretended to be members of the CPP while telling people to draw one or two check marks or write numbers to show their satisfaction with the CPP. There are also some people online who are showing people how to mark an invalid ballot.

The PM issued an audio message overnight, ordering the Ministry of Posts to investigate and arrest any impostors immediately and said he would not tolerate such wickedness.

"We have to catch those who nominated the CPP as CPP supporters who went to teach the people to draw the wrong ballot," he said.

He asked each political party to guide the people to mark the ballot correctly.
