Board of Supervisors from 22 META Companies Permanently Banned from Entering Cambodia

Phnom Penh: The Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen has announced a lifetime ban on the Board of Supervisors of the 22 META companies, stating that these individuals will not be allowed to enter the country.

The Prime Minister, speaking via the Channel Telegram on the evening of July 4, 2023, attributed this decision to the board members' involvement in political interference concerning Cambodia's internal affairs.

The ban was imposed in response to their recommendation to temporarily suspend the official Facebook account of the Cambodian Prime Minister, a move deemed political in nature.

In an official statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on July 4, 2023, the following individuals were named as subject to the ban: Kenji Yoshino, Julie Owono, Pamela San Martin, Ronaldo Lemos, Michael McConnell, Nighat Dad, Katherine Chen, Andras Sajo, Emi Palmor, John Samples, Khaled Mansour, Suzanne Nossel, Tawakkol Karman, Catal in Botero-Marino, Afia Asantewaa Asare-Kyei, Nicolas Suzor, Paolo Carozza, Evelyn Aswad, Sudhir Krishnaswamy, Hel le Thorn ing-Schmidt, Alan Rusbridger, and Endy Bayuni.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized in a Facebook statement: "The individuals listed above are strictly prohibited from entering or remaining in the Kingdom of Cambodia. They are required to leave Cambodia within 48 hours from the date and time of this statement, which was issued at 16:00 on July 4, 2023."
