PM Promises Large Celebrations for this Year’s Water Festival

PURSAT: Prime Minister Hun Sen announced that the Water Festival will return bigger and better than ever this year following years of interruption. The Royal Water Festival has been suspended for three years in Phnom Penh due to Covid-19 in 2020 and 2021, while in 2022 it was cancelled because Cambodia was hosting the ASEAN summit.

The Prime Minister made the announcement during a meeting with nearly 7,000 workers in Pursat’s Krakor district on the morning of June 30, where he also promised that this year’s 70th National Independence Day on November 9 would be a huge celebration as well.
