Department of Taxation Reminds Property Owners to Pay Taxes by End of September

PHNOM PENH: The General Department of Taxation issued a press release to remind all property owners in Phnom Penh and all provinces that the deadline for paying property tax is September 30,2023.

The announcement came from the Director General of Taxation on June 22, who said that some property owners have not yet fulfilled their obligation to declare these types of taxes.

The General Department of Taxation encouraged taxpayers to make their payments soon, so as to avoid a lengthy process as the deadline approaches and the office is inundated with paperwork at the last minute.

The General Department of Taxation would like to remind all property owners who have not yet fulfilled their tax payment obligations to hurry and declare their taxes before the September 30 deadline. Taxpayers have many options to submit their taxes; they can pay in-person at the General Department of Taxation, the provincial-disctrict tax branch, or at partnered bank branches (ACLEDA, Canadia, Vattanac , Sathapana, Jet Strait, Cambodian Public Bank, Cambodia Post Bank and Foreign Trade Bank of Cambodia). Taxes can also be declared through the "GDT Taxpayer App," which can be downloaded from the App Store or Play Store.

The announcement warned that those who fail to file their taxes on time will be subject to administrative penalties according to the tax law in force.
