Persons with Disabilities Permitted to Leave Work Early

KAMPONG CHHNANG: Prime Minister Hun Sen reaffirmed that all state institutions, factories and enterprises will be required to allow people with disabilities to leave work early. The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training made the announcement on June 6, urging business owners to comply with the new rule, which allows persons with disabilities and pregnant people to leave work 15 minutes early without wage deduction.

Speaking to nearly 20,000 workers in Kampong Chhnang province this morning, the PM said, "Both public and private institutions need to provide opportunities for pregnant women and persons with disabilities to leave early.”

He said that the new policy is meant to ensure that everyone is able to leave in a timely and safe manner without risking a loss of benefits or employment.
