PM Asks Vietnam to Arrest Sam Rainsy if He Enters

KANDAL: Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen asked Vietnam to arrest Sam Rainsy if he dared to enter their country.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway on the morning of June 7, the PM said that he had been informed of Sam Rainsy’s intent to taunt him by flying into Vietnam via as a tourist using a French passport.

"As a criminal with an arrest warrant, if [Sam Rainsy] enters Vietnam, please arrest him for me," he said.

He went on to defend an earlier statement he made last week, promising to “welcome” Sam Rainsy with a BM21 rocket launcher if he dared approach the Cambodian border, citing Rainsy’s intent to overthrow the government.
