Delta Variant Scare Hits Russey Keo’s Street 93

Phnom Penh: Authorities in Phnom Penh have blocked off Street 93 in Phsar Touch Village in Russey Keo’s Sangkat Toul Sangke I. The road has been sealed from Ponhea Krek Primary School to House #116 in Borey KC.

A suspected Delta variant case of Covid-19 has been found on the street. All other residents are being tested and monitored. A red zone for the area has not been declared but all access to Street 93 has been blocked for the next seven days.

The case of the Delta variant is among the 215 identified by the Ministry of Health since Saturday. Most of the cases have been detected in healthcare workers and teachers associated with migrant workers returning from Thailand, although there are at least five cases in Phnom Penh as of Monday.
