PM Reminds Workers of the Benefits of Peace

KAMPONG SPEU: Prime Minister Hun Sen once again highlighted the benefits of peace for the development of society and the individual.

In a meeting with more than 16,000 workers in Kong Pisey this morning, the PM called on workers to continue to participate in maintaining peace in Cambodia.

He added that peacetime has provided stable jobs and many other benefits for all workers. He warned that when war happens, the first victims are the people.

"The prime minister has a security team to protect himself and his property. Many people could die and yet the war would continue,” he said, “So we need to ensure peace.”

During his speech he emphasized that the only organization who can establish and protect peace is the Cambodian People's Party. He then announced workers would have three days paid leave to vote for whichever party they want in the July election.
