More Than 500 Journalists Set to Cover ASEAN Para Games

PHNOM PENH: Over 500 foreign and national journalists have registered to cover the upcoming 12th ASEAN Para Games in Cambodia. As in last month’s SEA Games, CAMSOC will provide the journalists the Main Press Centre where they can stream the events and have access to free Wifi and refreshments.

Chairman of the Information and Broadcasting for CAMSOC, Phos Sovann, confirmed that over 100 of the journalists represent foreign press. This year Cambodia is offering free broadcasting rights in an unprecedented move, which will allow for more exposure of the Games worldwide.

The Games will be held in Phnom Penh from June 3-9 with disabled athletes competing in a total of 14 sports, including Athletics, Badminton, Boccia, Chess, Football, Judo, Powerlifting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Sitting Volleyball, Wheelchair Basketball, and E-sports.

Around 1,400 athletes from 11 Southeast Asian countries will be competing around Phnom Penh. The opening ceremony for the Games will be held on Saturday, June 3 at the Morodok Techo National Stadium.
