Sec. Em Chan Makara Wishes National Assembly President a Happy 89th Birthday

PHNOM PENH: Secretary of State for the Ministry of Social Affairs and Secretary-General of the Disability Action Council, Em Chan Makara, sent a message of congratulations to National Assembly President Heng Samrin, on the occasion of his 89th birthday.

Sec. Em Chan Makara believes that President Heng Samrin is an important Cambodian leader. He is grateful for the president’s dedication to leading the country to freedom from the Khmer Rouge regime, noting that he led the country from rock bottom into the progress it enjoys today.

He added that President Heng Samrin has always worked hard for the causes of the motherland, especially in leading the National Assembly for the sixth and subsequent legislatures and contributing to the strengthening of democracy, pluralism, development, peace and prosperity.

President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, Heng Samrin, was born on May 25, 1935. He has been the President of the National Assembly since 2006.
