PM Hopeful for Disabled Cambodian Athletes

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen hopes that Cambodian athletes with disabilities will win many medals for the nation in the upcoming 12th ASEAN Para Games. He observed that the past ASEAN Para Games brought a lot of success to Cambodian athletes with disabilities.

"After breaking our record at the SEA Games, we have more medals to win at the Para Games. Now, we are training hard," he said at the inauguration of the new location of the Royal University of Fine Arts this morning.

On the evening of May 26, The Prime Minister, who is President of the National Paralympic Committee of Cambodia, is due to meet with disabled athletes who will compete in the ASEAN Para Games.

Cambodia will host the 12th ASEAN Para Games from June 3-9 with the participation of 1,423 athletes from Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam. Timor-Leste and Cambodia. The Games will host 14 sports with 160 sub-categories with 317 Cambodian athletes competing for medals for the nation.
