Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Health has announced that an additional one million doses of Sinovac vaccines will arrive in Cambodia on Saturday. Ministry of Health Secretary of State, Ms. Youk Sambath says that the coming Sinovac vaccines were purchased by the Cambodian government from China. The kingdom has already received around 18 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, both purchased by the government and by donations from “friendly countries” - as described by Prime Minister Hun Sen. That includes Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines from China, Astrazeneca from Japan, Johnson & Johnson from the United States and the United Kingdom has also pledged to donate vaccines to the country.

Ms. Sambath has also revealed that by August, Cambodia’s received vaccines will be reached 20 million doses. That is equivalent to the target of 10 million adults to be inoculated. Cambodia has also placed an additional order of five million doses of vaccines which will be used for the vaccination of the children aged 12 to 17.
