Hun Manet: Peace Provides Opportunities for Development

BATTAMBANG: At the inauguration ceremony of Wat Serey Mongkul in Battambang’s Kamrieng district on May 12, General Hun Manet said the Royal Government’s policies have transformed Kamrieng from an area of armed conflict and instability to district of peace, freedom and development, complete with an interconnected infrastructure.

Gen. Hun Manet emphasized that the Royal Government’s main priority remains to ensure the well-being and prosperity of the people by continuing to promote development across the country, including in the Kamrieng district.

He asked all citizens to join the Royal Government and Prime Minister Hun Sen in maintaining a peaceful, stable environment so that the country can continue on its path of long-term development.

He recalled that 45 years ago, the Prime Minister and his comrades joined in forming the Armed Forces of the Cambodian National Salvation Army to liberate the country and its people from the Pol Pot regime, which yielded its power brutally and massacred the people.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces said that to this day, the spirit of unity remains strong and continues to support heroism and joint action that serves the motherland which protects life and provides opportunity, hope and stability for the future.
