Another Former Opposition Supporter Comes Out to Tear Up This Party's Reputation

Phnom Penh: Former supporter of the Cambodia National Rescue Party and the Candle Light Party, Ms. Khuth Naroeun and her husband released a video asking for apologizing from the Prime Minister and President of the Cambodian People's Party, requesting to join this big political party. She says support for the opposition in the past has been disappointing.

A 3-minute video posted on social media of Ms. Khuth Naroeun and her husband sitting on a wooden sofa, raising their hands and bowing to the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Sen, with the words, "I apologize for my mistake in the past because Belief in deception from Sam Rainsy.

Ms. Khuth Naroeun stated that as an activist of the National Rescue Party, she went to raise money for the people to bring the CNRP to open a TV station, but as a result, the TV station did not have and the money she tried to collect from the poor people in that area do not know too.

She added that the Candlelight Party, which was succeeded by the CNRP, was no different, so she lost faith and opened her eyes to the CPP's achievements in nation-building.

Therefore, she also apologized to the Prime Minister Hun Sen and asked to become an activist of the CPP.

In response, PM wrote a message posted on his Channel Telegram: "Welcome to the daughter of Khuth Naroeun, who has applied to join the CPP. "Through the interpretation of this video will help explain to our people what the opposition has done to our people."

It should also be noted that in the run-up to the 2023 national elections, there was a movement of more and more asking to join CPP from activists who had previously opposed the government. The request to join was also welcomed by the Prime Minister of Cambodia and the President of the Cambodian People's Party.
