Khmer Martial Arts Officially Included in the SEA Games

PHNOM PENH: Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) and Secretary General of CAMSOC, Vath Chamroeun, confirmed that the member countries of the SEA Games Committee have officially decided to include Kun Khmer and Bokator in the SEA Games roster for the first time in history. This makes it possible in the future for the sports to be featured in other international competitions.

On May 4 Chamroeun stated that he believes that the agreement between all member countries in the National Olympic Committee is an acknowledgement of the popularity and good organization of this year’s SEA Games, hosted by Cambodia. He especially credits the careful consideration of Prime Minister Hun Sen, who admires the Olympic movement in the region and worldwide.
