Boris Battles “Umbrella Malfunction”

INTERNATIONAL: If you thought you were having a bad day, spare a thought for British Prime Minister Boris Johnson who stole the show at an official engagement on Wednesday, but for all the wrong reasons. It was supposed to be a sombre event – the unveiling of the UK Police Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.

But the typically British weather ended up having people in stitches, most especially the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles, who couldn’t help but get the giggles when British Prime Minister Boris Johnson couldn’t get his umbrella opened. When he finally did, the wind got hold of it and turned it inside out.

While the British Prime Minister was left red-faced and holding his umbrella awkwardly, the rest of the officials appeared to enjoy watching him struggle and the event carried on uninterrupted.
