PM Recalls Westerdam Rescue at Sihanoukville Port Three Years Ago

Sihanoukville: The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Sen, recalled the rescue of the Westerdam ship three years ago at the port of Sihanoukville, after it had been refused by five other ports. Prime Minister is looking forward welcoming the return of the ship to Cambodia at the end of 2023.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Sihanoukville Port Expansion this morning, May 1, 2023, PM said: "From the Cambodian governments focus on the right to life."

Prime Minister Hun Sen thanked the staff of the port who participated in welcoming the ship in 2020.
