Huge Fire Decimates High Rise in Sihanoukville

SIHANOUKVILLE: Firefighters in Sihanoukville were finally able to extinguish the huge fire that broke out at the 25-story Kampong Deva building by 9 pm on Sunday, 23 April 2023.

The building is located on the way to Otres pagoda on Allen Delong Road. The fire was luckily controlled on time so did not spread to other buildings.

The firefighting operation was led by the Deputy Governor of Preah Sihanouk Province, Mang Sineth, and involved the participation of firefighters, the police, gendarmerie, Rescue Unit 711, Sihanoukville Autonomous Port security, and other forces from the Sihanoukville International Airport.

Sihanoukville authorities have said that the fire did not cause any casualties. However, authorities still do not know what caused the fire, and await further investigation.
