More than $220,000 Donated to Build Monk’s Living Quarters

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen announced that public and private donations to the pagoda at Wat Baramey Vongkot Borey totaled more than $220,000 dollars.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the renovated temple in the Baramey Vongkot Borey in Toul Kork on Monday morning, 24 April 2023, the Prime Minister announced that he and the First Lady donated $50,000, along with former-DPM Sok An's widow, who donated $10,000, bringing the donation total to more than $220,000. According to the PM, the large donation is meant to provide living quarters for the monks.

Barmey Vongkot Borey Pagoda, also known as Toul Krasaing pagoda is located in Phnom Penh’s Sen Sok district, Teuk Thla commune. It has been renovated at a cost of $ 1 million.
